Enjoying A Cold, Sugar-Free Minty Beverage

 by Texas Homesteader ~

I like to serve healthier beverages. It’s important to drink water, but sometimes it get cat boring. What about a minty drink that’s sugar free. Is there any such thing?

Recently I was looking at my mint bed which is doing VERY well #thankyouverymuch. A little too well actually. It’s spreading in places I’d rather it not grow.

But while I was thinning the rambling mint runners, it smelled so dang good. I wondered if I could use it for a refreshingly-cold minty drink?

I've got chocolate mint growing outside & a gorgeous Stevia plant too. Why not brew it into a refreshingly cold, sweetened minty beverage? #TexasHomesteader

Canning Rings Expand Muffin Pan For Extra Muffins To Bake At The Same Time!

by Texas Homesteader ~

You’re baking cupcakes or muffins, still have batter & need more muffin cup spaces.

No worries! I used canning rings and paper or silicone cupcake liners to expand the capacity of my muffin tin. That way I could bake all the batter into muffins at one time. What a helpful Homestead Hack.

Need more muffin cup spaces? No worries! I used wide-mouth canning rings for those last 4 muffins. Everything baked up at the same time. #TexasHomesteader

RancherMan keeps our chest freezer filled with wild hog meat. I’ve made many dishes with this lean, mild-tasting wild pork. Many of those recipes are listed below. (Although you could use commercial pork instead)

But recently we were preparing for our annual family reunion. We decided to serve pulled-pork sandwiches with some of this wild-hog meat. But RancherMan wanted to smoke it with pecan wood before shredding it for sandwiches. It turned out Aaaaaaaahhhhh-MAZING!

Delicious Smoked Pork using pecan wood smoke. Delicious. And shredding all that meat can be done in minutes using our shortcut. #TexasHomesteader
