Looking for a no-knead free-form bread? Enter this homemade boule bread. The crust is nice & soft thanks to a cup of water tossed into a flat pan on the bottom rack to create steam in the oven as it bakes. Check it out.

Who doesn’t love dessert? We don’t have dessert every night of course but my handsome RancherMan does have a sweet tooth. Sometimes we like light & fluffy desserts like strawberries & whipped cream.
Other times we enjoy a heavier dessert. It’s not unusual for me to have homemade brownies or even apple pie. Or depending upon how hectic the day was I might take a shortcut and make something easy like homemade chocolate pudding.
A delicious dessert need not take lots of time or effort. Heck one of our favorite desserts is strawberries & fresh whipped cream. Dessert in a flash!

I was given a boatload of fresh carrots recently and I didn’t want them to go to waste. Now I’ve written before about turning ugly carrots into beautiful carrots by chopping misshapen carrots into prettier more uniform pieces.
In the past I’d dehydrated them using my small household-sized dehydrator. But now I have a 9-tray Excalibur dehydrator. I can really do some damage to that mountain of carrots now! Come see what I did.

Did you know that you can substitute some (or even ALL) of the oil in your baked treats with applesauce? The result can be fewer calories, more fiber & vitamins and nearly zero difference to taste.
Whaaaaa….??? No, really!

I love strawberry shortcake, don’t you? Recently I wrote about making homemade strawberry shortcake dessert for my handsome RancherMan and two of our grandbabies. It was a lip-smacking dessert that looked and tasted like I’d been in the kitchen for hours.
I’ll never tell them that it was super-easy to whip it all up from scratch – even the shortcake! C’mon y’all, I’ll let ya in on how I did it.

Recently we received some really beautiful garden-fresh strawberries. Oh the beauty of them! I decided I’d use them to make one of my favorite desserts – strawberry shortcake!
But in the past I always bought the little round shortcakes wrapped in plastic when I’d made strawberry shortcake. This time I wanted to make it all from scratch.
So I sat out to find a recipe I liked. I found one on the AllRecipes site that looked pretty straightforward so I decided to give it a try. I mean, these beautiful strawberries deserve the best #amiright??

I like to serve biscuits with scrambled eggs, cheese and a breakfast meat to overnight guests. They call them BOBs (Breakfast-on-a-Biscuit). Making the pre-formed scrambled egg disk is easy.
The beautiful thing is I can make everything in advance & just assemble & enjoy.
