I wanted to bake little individual apple pies. It makes an oh-so-cute and delicious dessert.
And it’s company worthy too. Just cut the crust with a canning ring, put it in the jar and pile in the apple pie filling.

Keeping the grocery budget low & eliminating waste is important in our household. Oftentimes that means Planned Leftovers. But sometimes it’s just making Fast Food by reworking leftovers into a brand new dish.
When it’s time to plan a meal I typically look at what I have to be used and build a meal around those things. That way there’s no food waste. Remember recently I ended up with a boatload of fresh carrots? Now there was no way to consume that many carrots before they went bad.

So I dehydrated a huge bunch of them so I could enjoy them all winter long in our hot soups & stews. (you can read about dehydrating carrots here)
These dehydrated carrots look awesome in my pantry in shining glass jars. And they take no additional energy to store such as a refrigerator or freezer.
But I wanted to know how they would taste if I reconstituted them to enjoy as a veggie side dish. Let’s check it out, shall we?
