Halloween Decorating – Homestead Style!

We don’t typically decorate for Halloween, but the weaning calves weren’t hearing of it.

We weren't going to decorate for Halloween but the calves would't hear of it. They presented their own rendition of 'Spooky Haybale' #TexasHomesteader

They did their own rendition of ‘Spooky Hay Bale’.

Brilliant Ingredient Measuring Shortcut ~ Save Time, Less Cleanup!

I’ve found an easier way to measure ingredients for recipes I use often. I weigh them instead of using measuring cups.

It’s faster than digging out measuring cups and there’s less cleanup too. Just place your bowl on the scale, tare the weight to zero and add ingredients. Brilliant!

Homestead Hack: Easy No-Mess Way To Pour Honey

I refuse to store my honey in those plastic squeezy bears and use glass canning jars to store my honey. But how do I keep honey pouring neatly? Actual honey jars seemed too expensive but I wanted something of quality and made of glass.

Luckily I’ve found an awesome solution. Come check out this Homestead Hack.

I needed a way to measure small amounts of honey each day without making a mess. I decided a vintage syrup dispenser fit the bill nicely. #TexasHomesteader
