Rain is such a blessing. I wonder if y’all have any rain barrels set out. That really helps us with the watering.
Thanks for sharing your outdoor post on The Maple Hill Hop!

Oh yes Daisy, we have a 55-gallon water barrel connected to one of our downspouts for watering potted plants and we have another line run to our underground cistern that’s about 20-ft deep. I use the cistern for exclusive garden irrigation, it receives nothing from our city water tap. Between the rain & the cistern I’m typically able to see the garden through the year here in NE Texas but during droughts (Like we’ve had the past several years in a row) I come to the sad realization that struggling to keep garden plants alive with no rain & 115-degree days is futile and once the cistern dries up I pull the plants from the garden and allow the soil to rest for the remainder of the season. Here’s fingers crossed for normal rainfall this year! ~TxH~

I think you are right about having another hot, dry year.
We received a nice shower the other night but didn’t even get an inch of rain but every little bit helps and enjoying every small shower that we do receive.
