Summer is surely here, y’all. It’s HOT outside. So we’re mindful to get as many of our outside chores complete in the early hours as we can. And we take lots of breaks, drink lots of cold water and stay hydrated.
Since our budget is so tight, we’re always on the lookout for doing little things on a regular basis that saves us some money. Are you looking to incorporate some money-saving steps in your own days?

It’s been raining for weeks here in NE Texas. Everything is a muddy mess. EVERYTHING!
Yes, it’s true that we’ll be begging for this moisture when the summer months come. But whether it’s no rain or too much rain – neither extreme is desirable. I sure wish Mother Nature would get a little better moderated. But these extremes… Ugh.

As it always is this time of year, this was a busy week for RancherMan & me. Between garden chores, PG checking cows, ordering new honeybee queens, doing hive splits, etc. we’ve really been working sun up to sun down.
But even when the days are filled to the brim there’s still ways to save money during our typical day-to-day life. Come see the 5 frugal ways we’ve been able to save money (and oftentimes with a positive environmental impact as well!)

Close the loop! Buying from thrift stores is good for the environment. You support a good cause & often get higher quality at a lower cost too!

I’ve found many sources for repurposing lids to replace 2-part canning jar lids when storing food. Storage lids on the cheap, y’all.

OK, I may be cheating somewhat with this post of 5 frugal things we did to save money this week. Most money-saving steps were more necessity than anything!
You see, not only here in Texas but even most of the United States was slammed with a historic arctic blast this past week. It was bad y’all.
Thankfully we were blessed with a little time to prepare beforehand. Still there were things we did to save some money during the icy-cold hardship.
