Homestead Hack: Easy No-Mess Way To Pour Honey

I refuse to store my honey in those plastic squeezy bears and use glass canning jars to store my honey. But how do I keep honey pouring neatly? Actual honey jars seemed too expensive but I wanted something of quality and made of glass.

I needed a way to measure small amounts of honey each day without making a mess. I decided a vintage syrup dispenser fit the bill nicely. #TexasHomesteader

Soap Grows On Trees! Using Soapberries For A Natural Shampoo

The Western Soapberry Tree (or Sapindus saponaria ssp. drummondii) is native in North America. I make my own all natural zero-waste shampoo with the berries I harvest. It’s all I’ve used for nearly 10 years now.

Using Soapberries for a natural shampoo is easy on your hair and easy on your budget. It's true - soap really DOES grow on trees! #TexasHomesteader

How To Make A Denim Dish-Carrier Using Old Jeans

I’m pretty eco-conscious, shunning excessive or unnecessary trash wherever possible. To replace flimsy disposable take-out containers I easily made a cute denim dish carrier using worn jeans. It was easy, even for my novice sewing skills!
