by Texas Homesteader ~

Independence Day America! A hearty "THANK YOU" goes out to all who have served our country, both past & present. #TexasHomesteader

As we celebrate the Independence of our beloved country, let’s pause and remember:

It’s the Land of the Free

BECAUSE of The Brave!

A hearty Texas Homesteader “THANK YOU” goes out to all who have served our country, both past & present.

Arrowhead Cross Collage In A Distressed White Painted Shadow Box Frame

by Texas Homesteader ~

I made a cross collage using arrowheads. It was placed in a shadowbox frame that was previously just an old (and ugly) repurposed key box. The wood frame was painted white and lightly sanded to distress the finish just a touch. I love the way it turned out!

I made this sentimental gift for my mother using just what we had at the house. I designed an arrowhead cross to go into a frame that was painted & distressed #TexasHomesteader

Happy Easter. Glory, Hallelujah – He Is RISEN!

by Texas Homesteader ~

Easter celebrations may look a little different this year. But celebrate where you are! Go ahead & let the kids hunt Easter eggs in the back yard, or even in the house like we used to do when the kids were little and rain hampered an outdoors celebration.

Attend your favorite church service online and praise the Lord! Celebrating shouldn’t be a gathering this year, but it certainly  can and should still be CELEBRATING!

Gatherings may be canceled, but Easter has certainly not been canceled!

For all my Christian friends - what a glorious day today is. Happy EASTER. He Is Risen! #TexasHomesteader

Experience Gift Idea: Escape Room Is A Fun Challenge

by Texas Homesteader ~

Several years ago our children requested no new toys for our grandbabies. They already had way too many toys! So RancherMan & I opted to gift them Experience Gifts instead. The experience gift option has been an absolutely wonderful solution for several years now. And what a win/win too. We get to spend precious time with our grandkids and create MEMORIES with them instead of giving them just another toy.

In past years we’ve taken them Rock Climbing and to a Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course. We’ve taken them to the Ft Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and to Museums. A couple of times we’ve taken them to Live Production Plays – Christmas Story and It’s a Wonderful Life. Each one was so much fun for all of us.

But this year we decided to take them to an escape room. An escape room experience is where you’re placed in a room and you’re challenged to solve the clues one by one to find the key to escape. Come see the fun we had!

We try to give only experience gifts where possible. This year we gifted our grandkids an escape room experience. We all had a blast! #TexasHomesteader
