Wordless Wednesday: Beekeeper’s Delight

by Texas Homesteader ~

A honeybee foraging on blossoms is every beekeeper's delight. We can't wait for our first honey harvest! Stay busy, girl! #TexasHomesteader

Ever since beginning our beekeeping endeavor, I can no longer just merrily bounce across the yard.  Now I’m taking very deliberate steps to assure I don’t accidentally step on one of our honey-makers!

LOL – me too! Those little girls work so hard, it would be a shame to step on one… and painful!

The Bee photo is so beautiful. We worry about all our pollinators here in SW Oregon with all the spraying on forest lands, roadsides and even in misguided citizens yards. I live in the country and I don’t want a city yard, Thank You Very Much. I can’t control drift and damage done to insects that migrate across the road. Doesn’t look like federal protections will offer any help either.

Thank you for your sweet words, Candace. I’m careful to care for our outside spaces in a way that’s healthy to our bees, and they return the favor by providing a bountiful harvest. And HONEY! ~TxH~
