  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. (325 degrees F for glass pans) Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the oil, butter, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in eggs. In separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; When fully combined, gradually stir flour mixture into the egg mixture just until blended. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the brownie begins to pull away from edges of the pan. Let pan of brownies cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares as brownies will be very soft while hot.  You can serve directly from the baking dish.  Delicious!
