The increased Mockingbird activity in this tree close to my garden indicates there is another future generation of our state bird on the way.  Mockingbirds are my favorites.

I love these beautiful purple flowers, they bloom all by themselves in early spring. Our youngest used to call them 'Bunny Flowers' because they look like a bunny. Some might just call them a weed, but I think beauty is where you look for it. #TexasHomesteader

When our youngest daughter was a toddler she used to love the late-winter weed henbit because to her it looked like a bunny rabbit, hence the name ‘Bunny Flower’.
