All-Natural Lavender Scented Gardener’s Hand Scrub

by Texas Homesteader ~

RancherMan & I like to make our Christmas gifts ourselves to give to loved ones. This year we’d been working HARD for several months making different flavors of homemade cheese for our gifts.

But my aunt is on a special diet. So cheese wouldn’t be a thoughtful gift for her at all. Hummm…

I know – she loves to garden and she’s always planting and tending to the flowers in her amazing garden. (Let me tell ya, her landscape is breath-taking!) I’ll make a homemade, natural hand scrub for her!

All-Natural Lavender Scented Gardener's Hand Scrub. The perfect gift for the gardeners in your life. Includes crushed lavender blooms. #TexasHomesteader

Experience Gift Idea: Rock Climbing

by Texas Homesteader ~

Earlier I told you about this year’s experience gift to our grandchildren. We took them to a Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course called Urban Air.

This facility was a trampoline park as well. So there was lots of physical fun had by all the kids.

But since they came home with us to spend the night, we thought it would also be fun to take them to a rock-climbing experience the following day!

Experience Gift: Rock climbing. We gifted all four of our grandchildren this experience gift for Christmas and we all had a blast! #TexasHomesteader

Experience Gift: Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course

by Texas Homesteader ~

Several years ago our children requested no new toys for our grandkids. They already had mountains of toys, and Christmas always just sent it all over the edge. So RancherMan & I have been gifting our grandchildren ‘Experience Gifts‘ for Christmas instead.

One year we took them to a live production of ‘A Christmas Story’ at a theater in a nearby town. We’ve taken them to see a live production of ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ at a lovely refurbished 1940’s theater one year too. Often we’ll drive through a Christmas-Light display at the lake or stop at a restaurant for a bite to eat as well.

But they’re starting to get older, so this year we wanted something a little more physically challenging for them. So we hunted down a Warrior Ninja Obstacle Course/Trampoline park in a nearby town. It was all the rage on TV so we knew they’d love it.

Our kids requested experience gifts only for our grandchildren. We wanted something more physical for them so we took them to an Obstacle Course. #TexasHomesteader

How To Make A Cute Gift Box With A Greeting Card

by Texas Homesteader ~

Y’all remember last Christmas I showed you how to repurpose Christmas Cards into cute little Christmas gift boxes? Well I thought I’d point out that you can use any greeting card to make these gift boxes. A friend of mine was celebrating a birthday recently. I decided to gift her some homemade Lavender/Rosemary soap, but how to package it?

Quick and easy fix – I pulled the birthday card she gave ME last year and decided to turn it into a cute little gift box. Won’t that be the sweetest idea? Plus it’s the perfect size for a bar of homemade soap!

You can repurpose a pretty greeting card into a cute gift box in minutes. It's easy and there's no waste! #TexasHomesteader
