WHEW – this is such a busy time of year here on the ranch. We have spring calves being born and the garden chores are really firing up too, but we finally made it to Friday, y’all! So sit back & I’ll share a Throwback Thursday post with you – I’ll fall back into the archives and bring back to the surface a post that’s proved very popular with our readers. Today I’m sharing the importance of obedience training for a ranch dog. We adopted our mini-schnauzer Bailey and discovered she really needed obedience training to keep her safe. Think about it – if she sees a skunk, or venomous snake, or encounters an angry mama cow – she needs to turn her curiosity off NOW and come when we call to keep her from getting into potentially life-threatening trouble! We were concerned that we might not be able to get her trained as poorly as she responded to our commands initially, but she came through beautifully! Come on y’all, check it out.
