The rain we’ve rec’d in July & August is rare in our part of NE Texas. But I’m catching as much as I can because we know those rain taps WILL turn off soon!

I KNOW, Miss B – RIGHT??!! And (get this) there’s yet more rain in our forecast, pretty much at least a small chance every day for the coming week, but many daily percentages are quite high. I’ve think I’ve awakened in an alien world…. But I like it! LOL ~TxH~
Congratulations on your rain! We’ve been experiencing a similar scenario in northwest Oklahoma this year. Now, we don’t have a giant rain barrel full of water like you do, but it seems like we haven’t gone more than just a few days without a chance for rain. It’s so strange to see full ponds this time of year!
Does having so much rain extend your gardening season Tammy?
I’d read elsewhere that the TX growing season stops in August because it’s too hot.
It’s hard to say, Mrs Shoes. The garden is definitely slowing. The cucumbers & green beans are done. Watermelon too. Tomatoes and peppers never really did much and even my squash is trying to give up the ghost. Even the cantaloupe vines are starting to get hit. Even though we’ve had rain. August is the hottest month of the year , although our temps so far have been a little below normal. I’m almost surprised to see so much in the garden dying off. Time will tell! ~TxH~
